RUC has started a music ministry by offering regular marimba training sessions to the young people in our congreation. We firmly believe that music is a powerful tool to minister to young people, building up their self-esteem and offering them the opportunity to be exposed to public performance. The senior band, known as "9:15", plays every Sunday morning in the service. The band has also been invited to play at weddings, music festivals and at two opening ceremonies in the new conference center. The junior band is now being training by the leader of the senior band and makes promising progress. More recently RUC has begun to fundraise for a marimba set to be set up at Pollsmoor Prison.
